Install one or both bookmarklets to capture a selected region or the currently visible page area — no extension required.
Step 1. Drag either or both buttons to your bookmarks bar (make sure the bar is visible — Ctrl+Shift+B toggles it):
If dragging doesn't work on your browser (this can happen on Brave, or with some ChromeOS trackpads), use the manual method below instead.
Manual install (if dragging doesn't work):
1. Right-click your bookmarks bar → Add page (or Add bookmark).
2. Name it "Capture region" and paste this into the URL field:
3. To add the second mode, create another bookmark named "Capture visible page" and paste this URL:
Tap either box to select all, then copy.
To use Capture region: click it, drag to select an area, then approve sharing the current tab. Press Esc to cancel selection.
To use Capture visible page: click it and approve sharing the current tab. It captures only the currently visible viewport; it does not scroll or capture the full document.
The browser asks you to share the current tab before the editor opens. If it blocks the editor popup after capture, click the temporary “Capture ready — open editor” button on the source page.
